PELSŐCZY PETRA: JÁTÉK A TÉR
This documentary is an introduction of the lottery-house history, experimenting to return to a unique place where only winners have been living. How can past send us a message through the traces of an old building? How much is the building connected to its beginning while so many changes have happened during its history of 50 years?
These people have one thing in common: during the days of the fashionable lottery game - between 1958 and 1968 - they all won a flat in a sweepstake for special prize. Nevertheless, the ‘lottery-house phenomenon’ has many interesting questions to answer:
- How can a building become part of our cultural memory through its function?
- May this ‘lottery legend’ eliminate or escalate in the present modern environment?
This documentary is about the mysteries of lottery-houses.

SOUNDPICNIC //PADLÁS // ATTIC // MUZEUM KRT. 9.
9-10/09 24hrs soundpicnic in the attic. as part of the preparation of our planned soundinstallation, we've spent 24 hrs wrapped in sounds in the attic of the Lotto house. magical atmosphere and acoustic. we were high above the city, but the noises were buzzing and humming around us: the ever changing rhythm of the traffic, nightly noises and morning awakenings. something, we would like to share with you when our project is on view.
FŐVÁROSI LEVÉLTÁR // RESEARCH
10/09 after many phone calls we made our first visit to Budapest Fővárosi Levéltár (Budapest City Archives). we are searching for any information about our beloved Lotto House, but this is the only paper we see regarding the lottery ("lottery factory related works"), nothing about housing projects. we start to talk about the project with the helpful staff, and they came up with stories from lottery factories. how nice. as they get involved and interested, we receive some other documentation, where we find lot of archives about the planning. just what we need.
